What is an Impartial Hearing?
​
An Impartial Hearing (or “due process hearing”) is a hearing in which you (the guardian) and the Department of Education (DOE) are involved in a dispute about a special education issue. The hearing is similar to a trial, in which both sides (the DOE and you) explain your interpretation of the issue. This hearing may result in services funded by the DOE.​​​​
Do you take insurance?
At this time, all funded is provided through DOE funds or private pay.
What are the qualifications of your providers?
ABA- BCBA, LBA or special educator with ABA experience (w/supervision from a BCBA/LBA)
Speech- Speech Language Pathologist
Occupational Therapy- Occupational Therapist
Physical Therapy- Physical Therapist
Counseling- Social Worker or Psychologist
Tutoring- Special Educator
Social Skills, parent training or toileting- BCBA, LBA or special educator with ABA experience
Assessments and/or behavior plans- BCBA, LBA
Where do you provide services?
Schools, homes, centers, camps or community
Can you refer me to a lawyer and/or advocate?
Yes! We work closely with reputable lawyers in NYC, Westchester and Long Island and can refer you to someone who can help guide you on your special education issue.
